That brings me to the point of todays title. If you're familiar with facebook, that's the first thing you see when you go visit someone's profile. Hmmm! Often gives me a chuckle. Maybe sympathy. Today my list for "Maxine is..." is quite long.
We are leaving Tues. after school is out to go up to ND to Dalayna & Wade's for Thanksgiving.
Relyssa is going with Mark out to his parents where Lynisha & Jim will also be.
Last night I took 5 kids shopping for winter clothes & shoes. Everyone's grown out of everything all at once, and the school clothes they started out the year with are summer! Pretty soon I'm going to get a call from the teachers complaining about how their dressed if I don't get some warmer ones for them (of course, I have to put away the summer ones, or they'll continue to wear them anyway. I'm not sure they really care!)
SO...
- I'm baking the pumpkins that were our halloween decorations. Meshayla wants to bake pie, and they all want me to roast pumpkin seeds.
- I've got about 6 loads of laundry to do before I can finish packing clothes
- I have to take 5 kids shopping again tonight, because although Walmart & Target have a good selection for 7 & 9 yr. old girls, & shirts for boys, we didn't find anything for 14 & 17 yr girls, or jeans & shoes for 12 yr. boy.
- 17 yr. old has to have fabric for school clothing class project.
- I need ingredients for granola to make for SIL, because my kids ate the other, and I have to send it out to him with Mark & Relyssa when they go.
- I need to make said granola
- I have 3 tubs of sewing things/material that have to be gone thru & re-packed up & stored because they can't stay in my living room.
- I have to pay bills so we have some untilitles on when we get back home!!
- I have to pack 4 kids clothes plus 2 adults, because my kids do not have a clue (and yes, I've tried. It's more stress than it's worth. Someday they'll figure it out)
- Sleeping bags & pillows
- Turkey & corn from the freezer to take along
- Water my plants so they don't die before we get home
- Remember all the other "left behind" items I need to send with Relyssa to Lynisha
- Hmmm, Try to remember all the other 99 things that need done, that I haven't wrote down yet.
- YIPEE....Gas is down to $1.62 here. Hopefully we'll have similar prices along the way. It will make the trip much more affordable! I can take Jessi shopping :*)
Woo hoo for taking Jessi shopping :D LOL!!
ReplyDeleteYou'll find just as cheap if not cheaper gas prices up here!
I can't wait :)
Great post! :) This is Sarah from "On your mark get set go"!
ReplyDeleteAnd you're finding time to write a blog? :) When the inspiration comes, everything else can wait, or the thought will be lost, right? That's quite a list of things... good luck. It's always amazing how it comes together.
ReplyDeleteAnd I'm right there with you on the FB thing, except I haven't got into any of the games. And I don't usually do the "Amy is..." part. I figure it's enough most days that I "am" and it changes frequently enough that within a couple of hours, it's no longer accurate.
Have a great trip, and a very Happy Thanksgiving.
I knew this was coming! I was going to call you this morning and ask how many billion things you have to do before you leave town, since I know how much you LOVE going out of town!
ReplyDeleteAAH, just think how much you'll miss my "before I go" stress when I get everything all figured out!!
ReplyDeleteYou know it's better!!
Whoa! What a list! We're packing, too, to go to Grandpa M's for Thanksgiving...leaving on Thursday morning. Some nice restaurant is fixing dinner for us...maybe Shari's or a little place called Aunt Hattie's. :) :)
ReplyDeleteYay for low gas prices (and boo for long to-do lists)! Yesterday I paid $1.52/gallon for gas, I'm lovin the $15 gas bill instead of $30+!
ReplyDeleteOh was I laughing. Better you than me. But wow did this blog sound familiar. Oh yeah, even the daughter's sarcastic comment. Lynisha if you have enough kids you will understand, and if you don't you will thank your lucky stars that you don't have to come slightly unglued because you are going away a few days. That is the part that is worse now, that when the first four were little. Must be the age thing. :(
ReplyDeleteI feel your pain! Traveling with sleeping bags and pillows - a familiar routine! surprising how much room it takes too! I make a list for each of my kids to check off, with number of each item and we all hit it at the same time. They can't put it in their bag til I've approved it and they've learned my nerves are usually on edge so not a good time to argue when I tell them a specific item! (Bad mom moment!) It does help and goes much quicker tho'! I'll be thinking of you scurrying to have the car loaded in time!!!
ReplyDeleteYeah, the funny thing is, Lynisha really knows just what I'm dealing with here,(well, maybe I should say what the other kids have to deal with!) as she was in the middle of it for some years. Somehow it got worse as time went on tho, and bothers me a whole lot more. I can remember several years that she helped me get ready to go, somehow unlike many of her other siblings, I could tell her what to get & she went & did/found it. Some of the ones I have at home now walk around with their hands in their pockets looking blankly around the room like the think it's going to magically appear in front of them (To much Harry Potter??!!) And yes, I have to check items before they go in the bag too LOL!!
ReplyDeleteOh and don't forget the many times forgotten scrapbook....get it out and send it with Relyssa so she can take it to Lynisha so she can send it to Laura who thinks she's waited LOOOOOOOONNNNNNNNNNGGGGGGGG
ReplyDeleteenough. One year and a half to be exact!
Have a great trip and I love you all. Happy THANKSGIVING!
Oh yeah, and don't let Meshayla forget her clothes again!!
ReplyDeleteThis is a good day for me to leave a comment. Don't know if I've ever met you but have met Laura, DaLayna, and probably Jana. I've been reading your blog for sometime now but have never commented. Tell Jon & Sara hello if you see them up north. Jon is my nephew.
ReplyDeleteJon & Sara are having Thanksgiving with us at Dalayna & Wades.
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting!
Those gas prices really do make a difference in the budget, don't they? I don't know how you do it, Maxine. That said, have a good trip. Happy Thanksgiving!
