Dog-Tired...(or The Napping Dog)
An older, tired-looking dog wandered into my yard; I could tell from his collar and well-fed belly that he had a home and was well taken care of.
He calmly came over to me, I gave him a few pats on his head; he then followed me into my house, slowly walked down the hall, curled up in the corner and fell asleep.
An hour later, he went to the door, and I let him out. The next day he was back, greeted me in my yard, walked inside and resumed his spot in the hall and again slept for about an hour. This continued off and on for several weeks.
Curious I pinned a note to his collar: 'I would like to find out who the owner of this wonderful sweet dog is and ask if you are aware that almost every afternoon your dog comes to my house for a nap.'
The next day he arrived for his nap, with a different note pinned to his collar: 'He lives in a home with 6 children, 2 under the age of 3 - he's trying to catch up on his sleep. Can I come with him tomorrow?'

HAHAHA! I love it!
ReplyDeleteAre Ya with the writer of the second note? I want a nap too, ~ want to watch the kids for a few, they will enjoy running through the sprinkler, or a box of crayons with a few scratches of paper....
ReplyDeleteNo really did this happen to you? or did you find it somewhere and had to share it! It is a good one!
I just found it & thought it was good! I could relate to the 2nd note writer yes! Not so much now, but in years past!!
ReplyDeleteLOL!!!! Oh, I can so relate since Kyrie stopped napping when she was only 27 mos, and then Trey was born and even though he still naps I don't dare nap and leave her free reign of the house!
ReplyDeleteBTW, what are we waiting for?
thats a good laugh.
ReplyDeleteGuess I can't really relate since Adair still takes nice naps in the afternoon at the same as Baylen! The tradeoff is that he doesn't go to sleep till after 10 at night, tho.
ReplyDeleteUhhhh...While you're waiting for me to come up with another wonderful, interesting, witty post, of course! he hee!! (Laura gets withdrawals if I don't post often enough!)
ReplyDeleteHaha that's cute! Love it!
ReplyDeleteI love it! Is it really a true story?
ReplyDeleteI laughed and laughed! Thanks!
