I'm going to have serious blogging withdrawal! I'm heading out of town for 4 days to help Leon with an installation job at a motel in KS. The motel we stay at might have internet, but I don't have a laptop, so I'll have to do without. Just think how much more work & sleep I'll get! We're taking Morgen along to help us, Kara & Meshayla are at convention preps with their sister Jana, & Lynisha, Kyrie & Trey came to stay with Relyssa & Kaela while we're gone.
Anyway, while I'm gone I'm going to borrow an idea from a couple other of my favorite bloggers, and beg for a comment letting me know you read my blog. Who you are, where you're from, why you stop by, you can tell me you like it, or you don't, or whatever you want. It will appease my curiosity and make my day...and my week!! Have a great one everyone, I'm going to miss checking in on you!!
Next up, before we head off to convention I'm going to try to post the story behind these pictures.
The tabs across the page here at the top are separate pages.
Finland-Sweden trip is a link to my journal blog I kept during my trip there. Farm sweet Farm is pictures of the house, ect that we spent 2 1/2 years in-our first taste of "country living" during our married years. (And are just leaving) This is a work in progress for my scrapbook.
House to Home page is the picture journal of making our "new" house in the West part of the state into our home (On-going current)

Hi, Maxine -
ReplyDeleteYou know I read here and enjoy glimpses into your NE life. Your busy birthday/celebration month is coming to an end. Summer is upon us. Have a good time away, though it doesn't sound too relaxing. :)
Hi Maxine~
ReplyDeleteI check your blog every once in a while to see what you're up to. It's fun to check to see what your family is doing...takes me back to high school/college when I went to get togethers with your older girls. Have a good summer
And, of course, you know your sis-in-law is always dropping by! Your pictures brought tears--can't wait to read your story behind them now! Happy Hanging! I'll miss you!
ReplyDeleteLori
Heres a "smile" from Tucson, Arizona. Love your blog.
ReplyDeleteDonna
Hope you enjoy a little "blog break", but we'll miss the posts!:) Watch out for tornados in KS...looks like it's been the month for them! Love your blog and the music is a nice touch too!
ReplyDeleteTornadoes in Nebraska, too, unfortunately. In Kearney, and Grand Island, too, maybe. Hope everyone is all right.
ReplyDeleteSee you at convention! Lanae
Hi Mom, Most hotels now have internet so hope this one does. Hope everyone in Kearney is all right have to call Lynisha tomorrow. Maybe she can get some pictures for you. Hope you are having a great week. See ya at convention JR
ReplyDeleteLeave it up to the kids to tell you how to navigate the computer world! :-). Actually he's correct and I'm always using them. We're expecting a long, interesting post Sun. evening.

ReplyDeleteHi Maxine, I found your blog off of Jim and Nish's and enjoy coming to "visit" every now and then! Your family always has something to celebrate..so fun!! Just checking this morning to see if there was anything about the tornado that went through Kearney. I was thinking of Nish. Hopefully you don't have too much damage! Lorinda
ReplyDeleteHello...I'm one of your fellow "Friends Photo Challenge" bloggers. My name is Patty Rosehill and I reside in Houston, TX. I'm going to add something similar to my personal blog at parose.blogspot.com so I can know who is visiting my blog too. It is nice to know who visits. It's there you'll find out more about me and my family. I have been enjoying your blog very much.
ReplyDeleteI'm on here now and again to see the pictures. That way I know if there is onew I need to ask for copies of for my scrapbooks. I usually know the news already since I actually see you fairly often! :) I'm sure it is a fun view into your life for those who don't knock on your door at home on a regular basis.
ReplyDeleteHave a good trip!
Raimie
P.s I would leave comments MORE OFTEN except that my internet is sooooo slow and I hate waiting! :)
Hello from Washington! Is that your house and car in the photo at the top? If it's your car, I like it. (We have a silver Mercury Sable.) -S.
ReplyDeletejust me ya!, I like it and visit cuz I want to! Wink
ReplyDeleteHi from Indiana! Never met you, but hope to some day! You read my blog, so I read yours! =) It's interesting and entertaining so thanks for sharing! Anne
ReplyDeleteHi from another blogger to the East of you:) I "visit" you occasionally and always fun to look at your pix, read your stories. Thanks for letting us take a peek at your life - Cari Ann
ReplyDeletehey, this your sister...you know...the middle-one-who-doesn't-read-your-blog. I have been compelled to go see the pictures occasionally though.I seem to have no choice, Since I don't get to see pix going onto pages at Lu's Time to Remember scrapbook store anymore. I'm just glad that as your sister living close, I don't need to read a blog in order to communicate with you and share our lives. Lucky me!
ReplyDeleteI'd have to say my favs are the 'Layna growing up ones' Man, did we ever blink and she was GONE alright! gk
Dear Mrs. Jelinek, I received your wire sent out begging for visitors this week. So I stopped by-alas, it seems "your space" has been tragically hit by the Kearney tornado. My greatest concern is for the Fly Lady and the House Fairy. Has anyone heard from them? I sow a white, lace up shoe haphazardly poking out from under the fallen pine in yard next door. Could it have been hers? (No Fairy dust to be seen) Perhaps you have seen them in KS? Please let me know if condolences are in order. I will await your reply. Wishing you a speedy homecoming.
ReplyDeleteMOS (martha's other sister)
I was in your neighborhood surveying tornado damage...thought I would check on your people at home...but no people to be found..... ACCKKKK it appears the tornado went THROUGH your house.....WHERE IN THE WORLD IS MARTHA???
ReplyDeleteMMS (marthas middle sister)
I enjoy your blog and pop in often. I've tried to comment before, but can't always access the comments in the little box. I hit it lucky today! This blogging is quite addictive, I agree. My blog is: amyspressedflowers@blogspot.com
ReplyDeleteHello Maxine, Hope none of the tornados affected anyone up there in NE. We are use to them here in OK. They are very intresting to study.
ReplyDeleteDiane sent me the link to your blog, so I had to put in my 3 cents. Intresting news from up north.
Diane's oldest is 18 and graduated this year. She moved in with her girlfriend and is learning about the "big world out there". Her youngest is 14 and realy growing.
My young one is 14, 3" taller and 5 lbs heaver then I am. He is working on his second dan for his black belt in Tae Kown Do.
Mom and Dad not able to do everything by themselves anymore. Diane and I go over each weekend and do the house cleening etc. Mom had a pacemaker installed last month. we are hoping this will help her.
I am hoping to go storm spotting this Wensday and/or Thursday, always hope to see the big one.
hello dear max...are you home yet?
ReplyDeleteWell this is from the "sister" that didn't go by your house after the tornados went thru kearney...so i have no comment at this time concerning the demise of the Fly-Lady or House-Fairy. We've had MMS & MOS...so what does this make me---MBS(Martha's big sister?)
love, cg
Hmmm, I'm here but no fly lady or house fairy to be seen. Good thing, they would be quite appalled by all the "tornado damage"!
ReplyDeleteSo while she's still gone, anyone want to guess how many expired salad dressing bottles are in the fridge?!?! How about how many bottles of Zesty Ranch?
ReplyDeleteAnyone?
Yeah, she's going to kill me when she gets back! I'll tell you later about her deathly expired spices!
Have you checked the freezer?? Perhaps there is something in there that you could help demise? or dissapear? Atleast they believe in salad dressing there! Can you imagine eating all that salad and every time with out dressing....my lands!
ReplyDeleteI could send you a bottle of zesty ranch... I'm sure she wouldn't miss one of them...
ReplyDeleteP.S.
ReplyDeleteThe unnamed spice had an expiration date of 1982!!!!
Yes, I tossed it out, saving the pretty little antique container, and bought her a fresh spice.
Lynisha, Thanks for the post so we who saw the news about the Kearney tornado know that you & the expired spices weren't blown off the map! Thank goodness you can't see in my cabinets to tell all! :-P
ReplyDeleteAnd, Max, Hope your trip was good. We've been busy getting all of "my kids" graduated. I claim a bakers dozen of Kimberly's classmates who have grown up with her. Most are members with her in the "13 Year Club" at her school. We also made a flying trip to Memphis to one of her best friend's graduations.
Now our summer schedule starts. Lori has been accepted to a pre-college program. She will be at OSU-OKC for six weeks. XOXO from OKC
Hi from Valentine,
ReplyDeleteCame to Kearney & rode out the storm Thurs. night. Missed getting to see you again, but glad to see the ones we did! Love your blog! Hurry home & see you at Antioch. Sharon
Maxine or Martha or whatever your name is ;), looks like things are okay their! Good! I read your blog and I enjoy it. Hope your having a good week. Alison in Montana
ReplyDeleteThank you all, such good sports you are. AND, such bratty children I have!!
ReplyDeleteObviously I quit baking, so therefore don't use spices, my family doesn't believe in using the bottom part of the salad dressing (too hard to get out), maybe if we leave the bottle in the fridge it will be seed for a new one...Expired...well that was evidently the thousand Island that no one uses.
Oh well....can't expect me to be perfect, or do EVERYTHING???!!!!
Just wait till I go to her house and stay a couple days, then get on HER blog & comment...... :*)
Love you Nish, and THANKS BUNCHES for taking care of things while we were gone!!!!!!
P.S. Jeanne. Yes, I do know about internet in Motels. However, the one we were working at was new construction, nothing in yet. No access, even if I did have a laptop, and the one they put us up at had access in rooms, but as I said, no computer, and it was a little "older" one, so no computers sitting around to use in the lobby either, not that I had any time to play!
OH...Now she confesses...the expired spice was one she actually found LAST year, Before I cleaned my cupboards out. Thanks alot for embarrassing me, now everyone thinks I'm a terrible housekeeper, and here I am really a reformed one.... :*) LOL!
ReplyDeletethis is just me, Anita, stopping in late to say that I, too, read your blog. couldn't comment because we were on the road.
ReplyDeleteGot a chuckle out of the comments. :)
Love the comments that have been running through here! Cupboards are great places to cram everything when company comes. You know another great one--the washer and dryer! It's amazing what you can get in there in a hurry! Just remember not to wash it! Only problem is--our new washer and dryer have windows! Uh Oh! I hadn't thought about that one!
ReplyDeletelots of martha's roaming around these parts..thought i'd let you talk to a real one for once! ha. well, of course i stop by but what is this all about tornados? i just found out one was supposed to be in our county...( i don't do the news lately!)
ReplyDeletegotta hit the hay, obviously! it's gonna be a big week so had to read the blogs don't ya know!
hope you had a good wk. end!!
Did I not comment on this post? So sorry. Hey. *sheepish grin* ;) Glad you had a good convention.
