House to Home page is the picture journal of making our "new" house in the West part of the state into our home (On-going current)

Did you ever wonder...???

What big families were like?
What they did for entertainment?
Why I retreat to my computer for blogging company of ADULTS?
Why 2 of my daughters got married quite young?
Why the older kids don't come home very often? (lol!)
Why I hesitate to have company for meals?
Why you don't see pictures of my "middle" kids on here?
Well, This should give you a good idea of why! Here they are in their "best form", going strong. Tonight it was pick on Relyssa night, and those two boys can about rival the funny video below.
By the way, it's not really like this every night at Dinner...THANK GOODNESS!
(A reminder here, sorry about the quality of the photos--no new camera yet, but hey, it matches the quality of their table manners!)

  1. Sorry to leave a comment like this but I remember visiting your place and thinking in a house this size you would only have to say "grace" about once a week with that many people! I think at that time Wayne had been traveling just a little too long and I and the kids had made a trip to NE and loved the craziness of your household!

  2. Oh, that is funny! I'm sure with their behaviour they should have to give thanks a little more often!
ah well, you know the saying, "don't get mad, take pictures"...That probably should have been my title!! to borrow one of our blog friends words..."Life has blessed me hitherto"!

  3. I remember visiting some friends that had 5 kids, and they was never a moment out of the whole weekend I wasn't laughting or enjoying myself to the full extent! There Dad was truly amazing to me! He never raised his voice and did the dishes with the kid who's turn it was that night. The mom would get up read and get breakfast on and set down to the piano and play hymns while all the kids awoke to rise up humbly and with pleasent attitudes. Would love to be a figurein on your shelf looking over all the ups and downs of the J house hold it would be very boisterous!! (I think that is the right word any way, what a joy!!)

  4. I'm afraid you wouldn't see a whole lot of pleasant attitudes in our mornings here, as I never got that one headed in the right direction years ago! I have a few morning people here, but most (unfortunatly like me) are NOT!--and yes, boisterous is a good choice of words for many days!

  6. We love the big family. We don't take it for granted as all 14 of the extra's that have lived with us though the years remind us. Things get out of order, you have to hide in the bathroom to get some privacy, the noise never quits but we do have a lot of fun. These pics do remind me of meals in our house. My kids have not been motivated to get married young though. What did I do wrong?

  11. Well looks like another normal meal at the J's. Lol Nice to have some pictures to look at when I am sorry for myself eating all alone. Well I found a remadie for that. Invite the guys here in town over and cook a meal I've never made before. Actually turned into a pretty good lunch. Desided even when Lynisha's back home I'm going to have to do that a little more often
