Fathers day

  • Warning--This is a really LONG post!

My Sister & husband hosted a wonderful potluck on Sunday night for Fathers day & some June birthdays
It was such a lovely gathering & evening.

The hosts--my lovely sister & husband.  Sorry--not a great picture, but the only one I got of them.

The table spread --what a feast!

Some of the lovely guests--friends & family
Sorry--not good shots at all, I wasn't paying much attention--just shooting!

A peek out the window--Such a pretty & enjoyable setting for gatherings!

My Nephew--How did he get to be 18 so quickly?

Another one of my lovely sisters--and her husband.  It was Rod's birthday too.

My sister in law Lori came all the way from Michigan for this!

Just kidding--She and her boys spent the week here in NE, and she was busy catching up on all the family additions--babies, in-laws & friends.

When we camera happy girls get together, camera wars just seem to break out!

And then of course there's the pro--
 "The Prairie Hen" at work

--Busy documenting!

Getting up close & personal.  Wonder what she was taking this time?  More than likely you'll find out if you are a regular reader of hers!

Speaking of getting up close--I zoomed in on those  from across the room.  I'm pleased with my camera so far!

And Homemade Ice cream too!! UMM, UM!

This little guy kept us entertained with his BIG blue eyes, and climbing adventures.  He isn't wasn't quite walking all on his own yet, but it didn't stop him from climbing.  I'm wondering how my lovely niece manages to get anything done at all, with trying to keep up with him!

And we're off to the next adventure--one step at a time!  What a charmer!

I wish I was an awesome photographer, and or an interesting descriptive writer and could match some of the other creative Fathers day posts I've seen.

I'm not & that's that.  So I'll just post these--With Love to my husband & our son--Happy  Fathers day.
Leon's 33rd, and Derek's 1st.

If you haven't met him yet, This is Zander,  Derek's baby boy.  He's the newest addition to our family, and I have to say we think he's pretty cute too!  Born Apr 5, he's 2 1/2 months old now, and this was "Dad's" first solo outing with baby Z.  I think he wasn't too worried about getting plenty of "help" from the rest of us!
No lack of experience with babies in this group.

Derek & his grandmas--G'ma J and G'ma Cilla

And another 4 generation photo to add to our growing album

My girls

Dalayna was trying to get Jessi to give her a last kiss & hug goodbye, & Jessi was so anxious to get in our car that she wasn't wanting to take the time.

Just playing with my new camera

-- From  the last couple days--

The flooded James River we crossed on our way to get Miss Jessi

Wildflowers on the roadside abounded, & everything is GREEN with all the rain that's fallen all over the country

I thought this patch was interesting with the huge milkweed in the middle.

With all these storms we've been having, it's made for some very interesting clouds.  I caught these last night as the weather patterns were changing quickly

Road trip!

We met Jana in Norfork, shared some ice cream & a visit and left the two youngest girls with her for the remainder of the weekend.  Tylnn, a friend of the girl's, is in her field, and Jana was heading off to the Czech festival with the three of them.  I'm thinking she's going to need a rest when her weekend is over!
We got to Yankton way ahead of Dalayna & Wade, so ate lunch, and then went on further up the road & met up at another little town
It seemed kind of strange to have Morgen as "our only child" --Not sure that's happened for a long time!
This baby boy is so cute I just wanted to bring him home with us too!  His mama tells me that probably next year is going to be too soon yet too!
Boo for grandkids living so far away!

Jessi was quite anxious to get on the road--Not too much into wasting time on goodbyes--but she does like her picture taken.
Bye-bye baby brother!  It's up to you to keep Mom & Dad busy now.
