Winter - In black and white.

Our second snow this winter. We had several really nice (in the high 40's) days and the snow from our first storm a week and half ago had really melted down.
It started snowing here again this morning around 7:45 when I was on the way to town taking the girls to school. By the time I got home, the gravel road to our place which had been totally clear and dry when I left, had a good layer of snow on it. It's been snowing pretty heavy ever since.

Out the window, looking towards the road South West.

Snow shows up well against the barn!

From the front porch

Again out the window--our drive way and looking South across the road.

More out the upstairs window.  Silly dog--go in out of the snow!

  1. Falling snow is pretty... in small doses! It's the clean up that is not pretty. We got a foot and a half a month ago, not fun! Since then we have had a few pretty snows. But driveways have to be cleaned... and cleaned... :) Patty's from KC MO. There you usually don't clean, just wait a day or two for it to melt.

  2. I love it!! I've been enjoying our warmer than normal days this winter, but I would really really love a good snow storm!

  3. I don't know if there is anything more beautiful then snowfall! Something so clean and pure about it falling, and you are right....the red barn makes a wonderful backdrop.

  4. Beautiful! I'd love to come visit and see the snow some time, but I also want to come back to my no-snow (except 1 inch every 20 years) home. ;)

  5. I love to watch the snow come down, but today I was driving all over in it. At least I know how to be careful!! I was so glad to be home and STAY home. It will be pretty as long as the wind stays home, too.

  8. Pretty pictures, Maxine. I love how snow desaturates the landscape, but I think I'm ready for color again. And sunshine. And warmth! You have some lovely country views.
