And in the sleeping chamber
I'll add one more room to my house tour for now. I still have the other 2 bedrooms to add later--and my scrapbook nook, but those will have to wait.
Like some of the rest of the rooms, this one still has some unfinished things that need done. If I waited on everything that needs done then, well there probably would be no pictures of the house! Some things I (can) do, some things I can't, (or won't) ha!
One of those things is painting, which I'm perfectly capable of doing. However my husband is a pro at it, and what would take him 2 hours would take me 8. Why would I want to waste that kind of time?
Besides, I like to make him feel useful and needed.
On the other hand sometimes a bug bites and I do crazy things that I really should probably wait for him to help on. For instance the day that I decided I was tired of the way the furniture was arranged in our bedroom, and so I managed to move the big heavy dresser and bed around in our small room all by myself. I'd never put the wallpaper boarder up, and If I was going to move furniture I knew I might as well get that done at the same time.
I know he dosen't understand why I can move the furniture around by myself and yet I would prefer that he get the gas in the vehicles for me.
Don't ask me, I have no explanation for that weird quirk.

There you have it. Yes, it's quite a contrast to our other house where our room was at least 2x this size. We used the same colors when we re-painted this room as what we had in our house in town. We really hadn't had them all that long, we chose the colors to match our spread and we weren't tired of them. Not only that, I had bought the boarder to match and had never put it up in the other house.
Coming up next--
Our family "Thanksgiving" day and a surprise.

Great job! It looks awesome.
ReplyDeleteLooks great. Hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving day.
ReplyDeleteDear Auntie,
ReplyDeleteIt was so fun to see your room and park my baby there to sleep this afternoon. Felicity is still talking abotu how much fun she had with your girls, how she wants them to come over and how they have bunkbeds! Thanks for haivng us and inviting her to stay a while.
The crazy bug thing must jump around a lot because it lands on my shoulder now and then and my hubby give's me that look and shakes his head.... I try to not complain about the pain in my back afterwards, though... I doubt I'd get any sympathy! Ha!
Love,
Love It IRL in NE
Oh, meant to tell you I like your new D&D background! Wrena is the BEST! I must have the same digi scrap elements she used on this design... I recognize that chicken! :)
ReplyDeleteI love the new room composition - that's a lot of stuff to fit in that TINY bedroom! (tiny, compared to your old one!)
ReplyDeleteOh, and it seems that I'm going to have to be the 'gas getter' in this family now - otherwise I think Jim will have a nervous break down every time he fills that hog up!
ReplyDeleteVery nice colors in that room. I just rearranged my bedroom, too, after about 15 years of having my bed in the same place. We, or should I say, I, wanted the heater vent exposed, which DOES make it warmer in there, which does NOT explain after being HOT for weeks, why I was so cold last night, I crowded my hubby out of bed. I am mostly the gas getter around here, too, as Jim does NOT have time, although I sometimes plan to get the tank filled on the way to or from when he is with me on cold days. Neither of us like to paint, but it is going to be time to be doing some pretty soon.
ReplyDeleteThere is something about smaller spaces though, right? Just a bit more homey and comfy I think. You have done a marvelous job arranging every thing to look just cozy!!!
ReplyDeleteJust wondering what you did with those gorgeous drapes you had in the other house that went with your comforter? I love your paper!
ReplyDelete@Elaine--Still in my closet, along with the rods. Leon hasn't got that one done yet!!
ReplyDeleteTotally agree w/everyone else..very nice!! And agree w/you, too...gas getting just isn't what I do!!! But..painting...if it gets done I have to start it and then try to get help :) Vern doz an amazing job but he just is way too busy anymore 2 come do it :(
ReplyDeleteI have been thinking about rearranging our bedroom furniture too, since it's been the same way since we moved in five years ago. However, John doesn't want me to do it alone, but he never has time to help. Plus, there really aren't that many options because the room is so small :( Looks like you didn't let either of those obstacles stop you though!
