Hmm, 38 weeks, sounds like I'm expecting a baby or something. YES! Actually I am; A grandbaby girl, due in 2 weeks! WOW! THAT IS ONLY 2 WEEKS!! Yes, I'm getting very excited, and you can know what to expect for my "mom's in the picture" in the very near future!
This will be the first baby for our oldest daughter! Our 4th grandchild. Two more months and we'll also welcome grandbaby #5.
Things are gearing up here, so much going on and to do for the rest of the year. 2 babies, 2 baby showers, 2 trips to ND, a wedding to get ready for Dec 31 plus countless "normal everyday life" things to do and think about.
September brings another birthday in our family, plus two of her cousins. Meshayla and Rebecca are two days apart, Rebecca Sept 11 and Meshayla the 13th. Our closest "twin-cousins" They were both born at 7:06 in the morning. Their cousin Landon is a year younger than them, born on Sept 21. The girls have had their birthday parties together every year since they were 4, the year my sister moved back here from Arizona.
This year because of all of our crazy schedules we combined Landon's birthday party with the girls, and also added Jackson's birthday too. Poor lil' guy...his was actually the end of July and my sisters family schedule was even more crazy than ours, because they didn't have a chance to have a party for him before this!
We did the party up good, they each got their own cake, and the older boys got to have a "sleep"-over in the barn at my sis's country house. The girls had their sleeplessness in the house and by the time it was all over, I think my sis signed a BIG SIGH OF RELIEF!! 5 young teen boys, and 2 teen girl cousins, plenty of mountain dew & monster drinks plus snacks doesn't make for much sleep on anyone's part!
Now for the pictures....
It's Party time!!

Meshayla & me.
Becca & Shay--our 15 yr olds!
My sis, Luanne, Rebecca, Meshayla & me
Jackson K, (8) Rebecca L, & Meshayla (15)& Landon K (14)
It's our family ritual to let the birthday child pick where to go out to eat for their birthday. This year Meshayla's pick was Skeeter Barnes. Good choice Meshayla-- free dessert too! Of course the camera had to go along, and guess what? she didn't even protest the pictures!
I have others, but I think I will add them in a slide show on this post in the next couple days, so if you want to see more, stop back by. Time to let this be all for now!
Wonderful times and great pictures!
ReplyDeleteThat is so neat how they are so close in age, what a treat for the moms and the kids =) so much in common. Funny thing is I have two nieces that had birthdays on the 11 and 13th. They are a couple years apart, but still neat. And WOW! those are the biggest chicken strips I have ever seen, LOL
ReplyDeleteWe love having our cousins close in age (not as close as yours but within a year) Congrats on grandbaby #4..and #5. How exciting!!! :)
ReplyDeleteHow exciting! It would be so hard to pick which piece of cake to have...maybe a slice of all four! Looked like they all had a great time. Happy Birthday to ALL!
ReplyDeleteShame on me...I said I would come back and look at last weeks...and I forgot until this week. ;o) All I can say, is I love jet skiing too! Haven't been on one for years, but they are a blast. Glad you had fun!
Love the birthday pictures. Happy Birthday, Meshayla!

Thanks for stopping by! I see that you are from Nebraska as are we.
ReplyDeleteLovely birthday pictures of your duaghter's birthday. Can't wait to see a picture of your Grandbaby soon. How exciting!
We have the same bday tradition too - it's a nice treat for me too not to have to cook dinner ;)
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun birthday celebration for all - so cool you all are so close to celebrate together.
What fun birthday pictures. I love the cake one with the candles lite. Very cool.
ReplyDeleteThe last one is great too and the chicken fingers look yummy.
I have a question... I'm curious about the 'on your marks, bet set, go' blog.. and THANKS for the idea of an intro post on the home school blog! What a GREAT idea.
ReplyDeleteWhat? no protest? :) Good one of you and her. You are one busy lady. Know you're looking forward to your new grandbabies... I loved your title. Wish I was that far along, in the challenge, I mean. ;P
