Currently, the plant he works with, like many other places is doing lay-off's and cutting hours, so we haven't known what to expect for sure, but last week got the notice that he would be switched from weekend hours to weekdays, 2nd shift (3p.m.-11p.m.)
Since we were expecting company for the weekend, this was especially good news, as it meant he could spend time with them/us without cheating himself out of sleep!
At this time we don't know yet whether it will be a 4 or 5 day week, but we're glad for a job. We also don't know how it's going to work with his installation job schedules, but I'm sure we'll manage to juggle things somehow. We're just thankful for work in this present economic situation!
So, not only did we get to experience a "normal" weekend, like "normal" people (lol!) we actually had company for the weekend. Now, understand, we do have occasional company. But, seriously occasional. EXCEPT for a fairly steady stream of boys, boy-friends, and a few girls! But, this was a family! Adults!! Wow! and the kids had a blast! We had a great time, and hopefully this will only be the beginning of more company. (come see us!)
Now I don't really expect to love Monday's any less, but maybe I can enjoy weekends more!

LOL @ the kids pictures!
ReplyDeleteLooks like your wallpaper is coming off much easier than mine did!
Looks like a fun weekend! I didn't even notice the peeling wallpaper until your daughter pointed it out. I was too busy loving the red walls by the computer. :)
ReplyDeleteso that's who it was! Well neato! Interesting that you both posted some of the same shots. Great you had the weekend together- time with friends is vital!
ReplyDeleteLooks like fun! I need to post pictures from my weekend, too...
ReplyDeleteNice to picture you in your corner there! Looks very fun!
ReplyDeleteSo glad that his work schedule is a little better for time with family and friends. And WOW, adult company, do tell me what that's like =) Glad you had fun.
